Acquired immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) emerged in the world at a time when the guardians of medicine were on relentless spree of wiping off dreaded diseases and were planning to enter the 21 st century with all the celebrity. This challenge however has been accepted with all zeal and thousands of -centres and laboratories the world over are exploring the prospects for early diagnosis reliable treatment and eradication of AIDS from the globe. Twenty first century has spent four years but health for all is still faraway.
